What is Fade away?
Fade away is a gentle lotion derived from natural ingredients to help reduce the appearance of freckles, liver spots and pigmentation discolouration. Fade away contains Licorice and Bearberry extracts which act on melanocytes to inhibit tyrosinase activity, therefore reducing melanin synthesis. Fade away is a unisex product that is suitable for use on all skin types and positive results can be seen in as little as three weeks
How does Fade away work?
Skin colour is determined by the presence of melanin (the skin’s light-protective pigment) in the dermis and epidermis. There are two types of melanin in the skin, both of which are synthesized by melanocytes from the same starting amino acid, tyrosine. Normal skin pigmentation occurs when melanin attempts to protect the skin from UV exposure and inevitable damage. However, certain factors such as genetics, prolonged ultra-violet radiation, hormonal factors or just simply the normal ageing process may influence the content of melanin in the skin inappropriately, causing melanin synthesis. The ingredients in Fade away act on melanocytes to inhibit tyrosinase activity, therefore reducing melanin synthesis, lightening the skin colour and preventing further discolouration.
How do I use Fade away?
Cleanse thoroughly, apply fade away to the affected area. For best results use Fade away twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening.
What ingredients does it conatin?
- Fermented Glycyrrhiza glabra root extract(Licorice)
This extract contains various acids which have a beneficial effect on pigmentation and discolouration via different mechanisms. The Alpha Hydroxy Acid and Lactic Acid, influence cell renewal and contribute to melanin degradation. The Kojic Acid component reduces melanin synthesis. The Glycyrrhetinic acid has skin soothing properties.
- Bearberry
Bearberry is a potent skin lightener which gently brightens discoloration of the skin and protects it from damage. It is also capable of plumping the skin by increasing the collagen content.
- Retinol
Retinol plumps, thickens, improves skin texture, increases firmness, smoothes the skin and promotes healthy blood circulation of the skin. Retinol can also help to repair the signs of sun damage and prevent further damage.
- Salicylic acid
Salicylic Acid encourages the sloughing of dead skin cells, and as a result is very effective for improving blemishes by breaking down blackheads and whiteheads, and clearing clogged pores. It is alsovery helpful in improving hyperpigmentation.
- Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate and Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane
Provides protection from UVA and UVB sun rays, therefore helps to prevent photo damage.
Are there any side effects?
As it is made from all naturally derived ingredients there are no known side effects. We do however recommend that you conduct a patch test 24 hours prior to use to ensure you do not react to any of the ingredients. Fade away should not be applied to freshly shaven or broken skin and should not be used if pregnant or breastfeeding.
